Software Faculty Help guides Forms Online Orientation Course search For Students

The Office of Extended Learning provides a wide range of services to students. If you don't find the information you need, call us at (810) 762-3200.

  • Academic, credit-based online courses are similar to their on-campus counterparts and carry the same credit. Use our course search: Search Course Schedule.

  • To succeed in online courses, you should have experience using a computer for word processing and surfing the Internet.

  • To register for an online course, go to Student Information Services.

  • By registering for UM-Flint Online classes, you accept responsibility for reading, understanding and abiding by all University policies, procedures and dates published in the University Catalog and Course Schedule booklet.

  • About two weeks prior to the start of class, you will recieve a resource CD with tips and free software downloads, and the orientation schedule. If you've never taken an online course, we encourage you to attend one of our free orientation courses offered at the beginning of each semester. Free sessions are offered in the evening, weekend, or daytime. Register online.

  • On a waitlist? Here's how the Office of Extended Learning manages the waitlists for online courses.
  • Since online courses do not have scheduled meeting times, you are not required to log in at any specific time during the day; however, you can expect "due dates" for class activities. On occasion, faculty may require an on-campus visit; be sure to check the course description for details prior to enrolling.
  • Consult the course schedule booklet for tuition and fee information. Please note that there is an additional convenience fee of $43 per credit hour for online courses.
