SG #51: Places to Find a Quiz or Exam

This will give you some helpful hints on How to Locate a Quiz or an Exam within your Blackboard course. If at any time you feel that you are having a hard time locating a quiz or an exam, never hesitate to contact your instructor by email or stop by their office or call during their stated office hours (which can be found under the Staff Information tab).

Locating a Quiz or Exam:

Step 1: Check under the Assignments tab. It may be located loose under the assignments section of Blackboard, or it may be located within a folder.

Step 2: Check under the Course Documents tab. It may also be located loose under the course documents section of Blackboard, or it may be located within a folder.

Step 3: Check under the Announcements area. Sometimes instructors will tell you information on the quiz or exam and then place a link within their announcement for you to click on.

>> Note: Be sure to click on the View All tab within the announcements page. This ensures that you will see all the announcements since the first day of your class.

Step 4: Check in the Digital Dropbox (by clicking on Tools , and then on the Digital Dropbox link) to see if the instructor has placed the quiz or exam in there. For this case, the instructor would like you to save the quiz or exam, by clicking on the hyperlink, then click on the Save button. You would open it in the appropriate program (i.e. Word, or Excel) and complete the necessary requirements. Then you would place it back in the digital dropbox and send it back to the instructor. Click here for information on sending a file through the digital dropbox.

Step 5: Check under the Course Information tab. This is the least likely spot for a quiz or exam to be placed, but it is a spot for the instructors to place it.

Step 6: If you have checked the above locations, contact your instructor. If you have problems contacting your instructor, feel free to call the Office of Extended Learning at (810) 762-3200, the Online Helpdesk at (810) 237-6691, or you may also stop by 237 French Hall.
