Joining a Chat Session

The Chat function in Blackboard is a simple chat room tool for synchronous class discussions online.

1. Click the Tools button on the Course Menu.

2. Choose Collaboration on the Tools page.

3. Click the link for the Chat tool. This link is typically called "Office Hours" by default.

4. The Chat window will appear. The Participants list in the left-hand frame lists all users currently logged into the chat session. Type on the Compose line to post comments within the chat window.
