Adding a Course Banner
A banner for your course can be created several ways. A banner is a graphic. You
could put any graphic (jpg or gif) into the banner space in your course. If you
know how to use Paint, Fireworks, Photoshop, or another graphics program, you
can create your own custom banner incorporating images and text. If you're not
so confident in your graphic design skills, you might start by using the
creation tool found at a site like www.flamingtext.com, www.cooltext.com, or www.3dtextmaker.com. Once you have the graphic you would like to use for you course banner, you are ready to begin.
1. On the Control Panel menu, click to expand the Customization area. Click "Style" to change the appearance of your course.
2. Scroll down the page to the section labeled "Select Banner." Click the "Browse for Local File" button to search for the image to attach. Once selected, the image file name should be displayed.
3. Click Submit to finalize style changes and upload the course banner.
Note: The course banner is displayed only on the course entry point. The course entry point is the first area of the course that visitors see upon entry. By default, the landing page is set to the Announcements area, but can be changed in the Style area of the Customization area.
