Question type: Opinion Scale/ Likert Question

Opinion Scale/Likert questions ask you to read a statement and then specify a level of agreement, frequency, importance, likelihood and so on. This question type is most frequently used in a survey situation.

  1. To add an opinion scale question, select Opinion scale/ Likert from the question type drop-down menu, and click Go.
  2. Enter question text.
  3. Determine how the answers will be displayed by selecting Answer Numbering and Answer Orientation.
  4. Check Allow Partial Credit and optins will appear under each answer to assign a percentage of points possible. Remember if you are using this as a survey, points are not calculated.
  5. When this question type is created, six answer fields are pre-populated with the following answers:
    • Strongly Agree
    • Agree
    • Neither Agree or Disagree
    • Disagree
    • Strongly Disagree
    • Not Applicable
    However, you can modify these answers to fit the needs of the question.
  6. Complete the question by adding optional feedback, categories or keywords.
  7. Click Submit to add the question to the canvas.
