UM-Flint Course Schedule at SC4

Earn your Bachelor of Arts in psychology or Bachelor of Business Administration without traveling far from home. These programs, offered jointly by the University of Michigan-Flint and St. Clair County Community College (SC4), allow you to take the bulk of your courses on the SC4 campus or online!

  • The same high-quality curriculum taught jointly by UM-Flint and SC4 faculty.
  • Students take most of their UM-Flint courses on the St. Clair County Community College campus and online. Students will need to take psychology labs on the UM-Flint campus.
  • Up to 62 semester credit-hours from approved courses taken at SC4 (or other accredited universities) may be applied to the 120 required semester hours for the UM-Flint bachelor’s degree.

Bachelor of Arts in Psychology

The general program in psychology is perfect for students preparing for advanced study in professional psychology or as a starting point for health care, social services, education, communications, business management, government service or public policy.

What comprises this program?

  1. Completion of 120 credits, including UM-Flint’s general education, foreign language and natural science requirements, excluding courses in psychology. Prerequisite: MTH 111 or equivalent preparation determined by the mathematics departmental placement test.
  2. 34 credits in psychology including:
    • PSY 100, 201, 301 (11 credits)
    • Two laboratory core courses from PSY 306, 310, 327, 351, 380, 384, 386 (8 credits)
    • Three non-laboratory core courses from PSY 309, 326, 328, 335, 336, 345, 346 (9 credits)
    • Six additional credits in psychology from courses listed above not used to meet another requirement: PSY 340, 347, 350, 362, 363, 375, 381, 382, 389, 391, 392, 394, 427
      (Nine of these credits may be among the courses transferred from St. Clair County Community college.
  3. Satisfactory performance on departmental comprehensive educational evaluation.

Note: not more than 40 hours in psychology may be used for the B.A. degree

UM-Flint Courses at SC4

Bachelor of Business Administration

The general program in business is accredited by the (NCA) North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The University's School of Management is an AACSB international (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) accredited, professional school offering Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) degrees. This program is an ideal stepping-stone to employment or the Master of Business Administration offered at the UM-Flint campus.

What comprises this program?

At least 120 credits, as follows:

  1. Minimum grade point averages of 2.0 in the concentration area, 2.0 in all courses taken in the School of Management, and 2.0 in college work overall.
     
  2. BUS 110, 181, 201, 202, 211, 250, 313, 330, 341, 361, 371, 381, 385, 489.
     
  3. Additional requirement for a concentration in general business, accounting, finance, marketing, operations management, organizational behavior and human resources management, or the School of Management honors program, as detailed below.
     
  4. At least 48 credits in business administration, including at least 36 credits in upper-division courses at and least 30 credits completed at the University of Michigan-Flint.
     
  5. A two-course, non-business focus elective from any of the following topic areas: economics, communications, computer science, education, ethics, foreign language, history, international studies, or sociology/anthropology. Lists of approved courses can be obtained from the BBA Program Office.
